Reflections on Covid Office Gymnastics (Part RTO)

It has been a couple of months since our Return to Office, yet the Delta variant is leading us back to protective measures. As we consider the options, here are some reflections on our RTO transition. We staged our return first the attorneys, then half our support staff, and finally the remaining support staff. Each of these groups in succession returned to the office for three days in their first week and full time in their second week. Our RTO was characterized by relief, appreciation, and confidence.
Having remained in the office throughout the 14-month Work from Home period, it was heartening to hear how eager those who worked from home were to return to the office. Consistency, structure, and social interaction seemed to be the common reasons they found returning to be such a relief.
Renewed social interaction with coworkers has increased our appreciation for each other’s talents and individuality. And this increased appreciation has, in turn, improved our morale and teamwork. The result is a more pleasant and productive office environment than we had pre-WFH.
Finally, we have returned to the office with greater confidence that as a team we can handle the challenges we face today and will face in the future. Hopefully we will not need to go back to a full WFH, though we have taken up our masks again in the office. But even if we do enter another WFH period, we know we have the tools, the people, and the dynamics to carry on our mission of helping you attain the disability benefits you deserve.
