Douglas I. Friedman, Friedman Law Firm, P.C.'s founding partner, will present at the 2007 Insurance Marketplace Standards Association (IMSA) Compliance Best Practices Workshop, which will be held in Chicago on September 19 and 20. Now in its seventh year, the workshop will cover topics including suitability disclosure requirements, replacement monitoring, creating a culture of compliance, independent producer training and monitoring, and the implications of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Mr. Friedman's session will address appropriate considerations for in-house counsel as insurers evaluate sales concepts for compliance purposes. In addition, Mr. Friedman will speak about the ways in which differences in the sizes and approaches of insurers should affect their outcomes.
