What happens if you call the VA for your Veteran Disability Case Status?
You may be surprised to know that the person at the National Call Center really doesn't know anything about the status of your case. Instead, they listen for key words in your question and then they read a script to you. We know this because we can see the notes that the Call Center employee makes after speaking with you.We encourage our clients not to call the VA to ask for any information about their case. We are afraid that a client might say something inadvertently to the VA that could derail their case and they may not even know it. It doesn't happen very often, but it can be very difficult to correct. So, we encourage our clients to call us if they have questions about the status of their case.
