Many VA ratings in and of themselves should raise the question for the VA as to whether you can do a substantial gainful occupation. It could be 70% for PTSD or bipolar, but it also could be 50% from migraines, which is the highest rating you can get, or 60% for heart disease or 60% full pulmonary disease. Each of these ratings should alert the VA that you can't work, but unless you ask them for the benefit, often they won't award it.
