Friedman Law Firm Nominated for Pro Bono Award

The Friedman Law Firm has been nominated for the Pro Bono Award given annually by the Alabama State Bar. This award recognizes the outstanding benevolent efforts of attorneys and law firms that donate their time to provide legal counsel to those who cannot afford it. Friedman Law Firm has advised hundreds of Veterans through compassionate efforts to serve those that served for us.
Friedman Law Firm has served as Pro Bono General Counsel to Three Hots and a Cot since 2010. Friedman Law Firm first became associated with Three Hots and a Cot when Doug Friedman volunteered to help paint a home that had been donated after foreclosure. According to Three Hots and a Cot’s website, there are over 800 homeless Veterans in Birmingham seeking shelter and the means to better their life. Three Hots and a Cot helps Veterans in the transition back to work by giving them shelter and three hot meals a day. It also offers services such as resume building, job hunting, and group support meetings. Three Hots and a Cot has helped more than 390 Veterans live a self-sustained life. Friedman Law firm advises Three Hots and a Cot in all aspects of its operations. The firm also provides a monthly pro bono legal clinic to offer residents legal advice in the areas of Social Security Disability, Supplemental Security Income, and VA Compensation.
